Tyler Chung is a 2029 SS/2B with a 5-5 135 lb. frame from Markham, ON who attends St. Augustine. Smaller build with some compact strength to build on. Primary shortstop, gets a good first step on the baseball and shows the glove on-time. Stayed behind the backhands, taking a soft glove through the ball. Plenty of lateral range with developing arm strength. Releases the ball from a low 3/4 slot. Accurate throws across the diamond with feel for making plays on the run. Secondary pitcher, utilizes a full wind-up delivery with a coiled leg lift into balance and shorter stride into foot-strike. Around the zone with his fastball, which peaked at 75 mph with some action on the vertical axis. Mixed in a curveball at 67 mph. Right-handed batter, starts in an upright, slightly open stance with a low hand set-up. Utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger for timing before working into an inside/out bat path. Remained compact and on the barrel, working all parts of the field. Posted an exit velocity of 73 mph. Excellent student.
