Kenji Shintaku is a 2027 OF/LHP with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Palatine, IL who attends Wm Fremd. Strong, physical build. Ran a 7.40 60-yard dash. Left-handed hitter who sets up slightly open and upright, showing quick hands and the ability to get extended out front with pull-side impact and gap intent in BP. In the outfield, he fields out front with clean exchanges and carries momentum through his throws; arm action will continue to tighten up with reps, and the accuracy should trend up as his footwork and finish get more consistent. On the mound, he works from the stretch with a closed setup and a 3/4 slot, running the fastball 74-77 (T77) with some ride and occasional arm-side life. He also showed a 12-6 curveball at 65 with depth, and flashed a changeup with fade and depth.
