2005 Ohio Valley Top Prospect
Andrew Kaleto is a 2006 1B/C/P from Wayne Memorial HS in Wayne, MI, with a 6'4'', 205 lb. frame. He has solid present strength with more to come as he gets older. Kaleto ran the 60 in 8.20 and threw 72 mph from behind the plate in catching drills. His best pop time was 2.09. Kaleto showed good feet for a big catcher and solid on line arm strength. He blocked the ball well and showed good all round catching skills. Although he lists himself as a primary first baseman, we like Kaleto's potential behind the plate. Offensively, Kaleto hits from a slightly open stance with a deep load and long stride. He has a power type swing and generates good bat speed through the zone. Kaleto has some long lift in his swing and has home run potential on contact. He'll get long as most big power types do but he'll be dangerous on contact. Kaleto is good college level prospect with a balance of tools and he projects well. He is also a good student.
