Ian Phiri is a 2028 RHP/3B with a 6-4 205 lb. frame from Strongsville, OH who attends St Ignatius. Tall and lean athletic build with good present strength and plenty of physical projectability remaining. Works from a full wind up with a coiled leg raise to the belt, easy movements down the mound with a deeper arm stroke and a 3/4's arm slot. Fastball was in the mid-80's and topped out at 87 mph with some late running life down. Slurve type breaking ball showed good horizontal depth and created bad swings. Split finger change up flashed some nasty diving life. 7.33 runner in the sixty. Secondary third baseman on defense, step by step actions to the ball, arm is his best defensive tool. Right handed hitter, sets up in a narrow and open base with a high hand load, has some bat speed and leverage, showed the ability to impact the ball in the air to the pull side when everything came together. Named to the Great Lakes Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
