2026 PG Canadian National Showcases Qualifier (Saturday)
Caius Cardinal is a 2028 C/3B with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Lasalle, ON who attends St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic. Stronger medium build. Primary catcher on defense, sets up right knee down, gains ground on line well into his throws, compact arm action to a high 3/4's arm slot, made accurate throws and repeated his actions well, has the fundamentals down and just needs to develop his tools. Also worked out in the infield and showed similar athletic actions coming to and through the ball and in the accuracy of his throws. Ran the thirty in 4.04. Right handed hitter, sets up in a slightly open narrow stance with a big hand pump load that leaves him off-time, lofted swing plane, has some young raw bat speed but will have to work on his timing and consistency to take the next step with the bat. Good student.
