Palmer Smith is a 2027 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Monticello, KY who attends Wayne County. Small and slender young build. Works from a compact delivery with an extended high 3/4's arm slot, creates good plane to the plate and repeats his mechanics. Fastball was in the low 80's and topped out at 84 mph, gets good running life at times to go with his plane. Curveball has some sharp 1/7 spin and bite and good depth, created bad swings with the curveball. Quality change up that he sells well. Three-pitch strike thrower with a feel for mixing, going to get lots of outs especially as he gets stronger. 7.16 runner in the sixty. Worked out both in the outfield and at first base and showed good athleticism and bounce in his actions at both positions, arm works well in the field and makes accurate throws. Right handed hitter, sets up in a straight stance with a toe tap trigger and stride, stays balanced, has loose hands and a fluid swing path. Outstanding student. Named to the PG Ohio Valley Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
