Markeithon Simon is a 2029 RHP/OF/UT with a 5-7 165 lb. frame from Lake Charles, LA who attends Sam Houston. Thick and compact build with some present strength. Works from a fast paced full delivery with a coiled high leg over the rubber, gets down the mound well with a long and clean 3/4's arm action, uses his lower half well and throws his hips hard. Fastball topped out at 83 mph with some carry up and some cut down. Tended to drop his arm slot on his curveball, created some spin and tilt. Change up had some fading life. Solid three pitch starter's mix with plenty of strikes. Right handed hitter, sets up in a tall and open stance with a big coil into his back hip, deep hand load, lots of parts to time up, swings hard, tends to get to his front side early and cut across the ball at contact, mostly pull side contact. 7.38 runner in the sixty. Secondary outfielder on defense who worked out all over the field in drills, had his best actions and fundamentals of all the positions in the outfield, fielded the ball cleanly and worked into his throws well, some young carry to his throws. Right handed hitter, sets up in an upright and open stance with a high hand load, has a big lower half coil to start his swing, tends to come out of his coil early and get to his front side aggressively, reaching swing, will need to simplify his approach to get to his strength. Good student.
