Zach Esquilin is a 2008 SS/UT with a 5'8'', 145 lb. frame from Ellenwood GA, who attends Stockbridge HS. He has a short, athletic build with good body life. Esquilin ran the 60 in 6.82 and has quick actions. He shows advanced defensive actions and tools, with very good body control, quick hands and an easy arm. His tools probably profile best at second base unless his arm strength improves. Offensively, Esquilin hits from a still start and has a upper body rotational swing. He keeps his swing short and sprays line drives to all fields. He flashed some bat speed but was inconsistent in his contact and bat speed. He has some hitting tools and should improve with more strength.
