2004 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Jader Perez is a college outfielder from Mount Mercy in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Perez has a very strong 6'0", 200 lb body. He showed plus arm strength from the outfield with above average accuracy and carry. He really shows his strength and maturity at the plate where he hits from a spread out and slightly crouched stance. Perez has plus raw power with a good swing path to the ball. He stays on the plane well, and uses a back lean for leverage that helps produce his power. Perez hit a home run to left field in batting practice to go along with several other hard hit balls. We didn't get to see Perez hit in the showcase games, but he showed us a great approach and power in batting practice.
