Jack Kovich is a 2029 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-11 162 lb. frame from Glen Ellyn, IL who attends Glenbard West. Medium athletic build with the beginnings of some present strength and more to come. Ran a 7.54 60-yard dash. On the mound, worked from a full windup with a slower side step into a controlled move. Belt-high leg lift with some coil and drives downhill. Comes through a high 3/4 slot with an athletic move and repeats well. Fastball was 76-79 mph T79 with some angle and life and filled the zone early. Curveball showed 11-5 shape with depth. Slider was 73 mph with high tilt and spin and sweeping traits. Worked in the infield with good range laterally and a clean release. Arm works from a 3/4 slot with some whip, posted 81 mph across the infield and glove work repeated well. Worked in the outfield with solid footwork and fields it out front. Throws came out clean with carry and accuracy, 85 mph from the outfield. Right-handed hitter with an upright narrow stance and a hanging leg lift trigger. Bat speed is present with whip to the hands. Produced hard contact and handled the barrel with a level path, impact plays best when staying connected through contact. Excellent student. Named to the PG Chicago Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
