John Sundburg is a 2029 1B/LHP/OF with a 6-5 170 lb. frame from Carrollton, VA who attends Smithfield. Recorded a 7.96 second sixty yard dash time. Tall and lanky frame with long levers that projects as it adds strength. Primary first baseman with a stiffer arm action with developing coordination. Also threw on the mound. The left-handed pitcher works from a high three- quarter angle. Arm works quick and ball jumps out of the hand a bit. Has some ride and life through the zone on the fastball that was up to 79. Showed a tight slider in the low-70s with more cutter-like action and slight horizontal movement. Generates a lot of swing and miss when in the zone. Left-handed hitter starts from an upright and slightly open stance and a high hand set with a high back elbow. Separates and extends well with some carry to opposite field. Power upside as the frame adds strength. Good student. Exciting player that was intimidating figure on the mound and has a ton of upside as a two-way prospect.
