Jack Helfrich is a 2007 RHP/3B from Marin Catholic HS, residing in Belevedere, CA, with a 6'0" 192 lb. frame. Has a strong build, capable of carrying strength. Pitches from a 3/4 slot and has some arm strength. Competitive pitcher, pitches above his stuff. Did a nice job of spoting the FB and the CB for strikes. CB is a sharp 11/5 shaped pitch. Helfrich has solid mechanics and keeps his head on target to the plate throughout his delivery. He certainly can pitch a bit. Offensively he shows strength, particularly with his hands. He keeps decent balance during his swing, and his barrel lags long in the zone. Defensively hes has a good set-up to the ball. His feet are in decent position when the ball gets to him and he showed a conservative release. Helfrich's arm strength and pitchability are strengths that should draw some small college interest.
