Austin Faulkner is a 2009 OF with a 5'7'', 155 lb. frame from Fayetteville, GA who attends Whitewater HS. He has a small, lean frame and minimal present strength. Faulkner is a 7.01 runner with good first step quickness. He showed very good outfield fundamentals with good footwork and a quick release on his throws. He looks like he would profile best at second base. Offensively, Faulkner hits from a stationary, no stride approach with limited lower half involvement in his swing. He has a short contact oriented swing and is looking to make contact, put the ball on the ground and run. He battles hard at the plate but needs more strength and some mechanical adjustments. Faulkner is also a very good student.
