Beau Welborn is a 2010 2B/3B/P with a 6'0'', 155 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Lassiter HS. He has a slender build and a very young look to him. Welborn hits out of an open stance and has an inside out swing that results in consistent up the middle/opposite field contact. He's not strong enough to drive the ball now but has a good fundamental swing and should keep improving with age and strength. Defensively, Welborn has good one spot skills and showed good footwork and balance at second base. He will need to dramatically improve his quickness and speed as the game gets faster. Welborn also took a turn on the mound, throwing in the upper 60's from a low effort delivery that resulted in lots of strikes. He is a good student.
