2004 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Greg Steward is 2005 third baseman from Burlington, Iowa, with a strong, medium frame at 5'10", 180 lbs. Steward showed some foot speed defensively with nice range. At the plate Steward shows above average bat speed and tracks the ball well to the plate. Steward has a short bat path, and is primarily a pull hitter. Steward would improve his swing with more use of his lower body in his swing. He had a solid single to left center field in one of the showcase games and showed his good bat speed. Looks like he runs better than his 60 time shows. Greg is a good student.
