Nathan Bengston is a 2029 C/2B/OF with a 5-8 158 lb. frame from Avon, CT who attends The Cheshire Academy. Medium build with some young strength to build on. Right handed hitter, sets up in a straight stance with a high and tight hand load, deep hanging inward leg raise, will mix in a toe tap at time, lots of timing variables to simplify, hands are pretty compact and direct to the ball, best contact was line drive to the pull side when he got the barrel out front. 5.00 runner in the forty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up one knee down, comes out of his crouch well, effective and quick transfers with a short arm action, made accurate throws and repeated his actions well, some young arm strength to continue to develop. Also worked out as an infielder, moves well laterally, fielded the ball well with quick hands to the back hand, arm strength played well in the infield. Good student.
