Nick Kunes is a 2027 C/RHP/UT with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Clinton Township, MI who attends Sterling Heights Stevenson. Compact build with some present strength to build on. Right handed hitter, sets up in a narrow stance, tends to shift to his front side early, has some strength to his hands and can impact the ball with back spin when he stays back and is on time, pull side contact, has the bat speed to continue to develop with adjustments. 7.84 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up one knee down, segmented step by step actions in his transition into throwing, high effort thrower, tends to gain ground off to the side, developing fundamental actions. Also worked out in the infield, arm strength played well from an over the top arm slot, basic third base actions and tools. Took a turn on the mound, throws from a high 3/4's arm slot with a medium length arm action, rears back over the rubber and throws with energy. Fastball topped out at 78 mph with big running action when he gets it into the zone. Developing feel for spinning a soft slider. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
