2004 Underclass National Showcase
Erik Wojtkowiak -- Wojtkowiak is a young looking and projectable 6-0 junior right hander from Michigan with a strong lower half and broad shoulders. He showed us a 78-82 mph fastball during a 3 inning outing at the World Underclass with a high ¾’s release with a significant pause at the top of his delivery. The best comparison would be a football quarterback doing his last read before throwing the ball. His arm works pretty well, though, and he threw consistent strikes. Wojtkowiak’s change up was his best secondary pitch and he also threw a 67-70 mph curveball that would flash decent downer break. Wojtkowiak is a very good student as well.
