Joaquin Acevedo is a 2027 OF/RHP with a 5-11 167 lb. frame from Lexington, KY who attends Sayre. Compact athletic build with good present strength. Left handed hitter, sets up in a spread and open stance with a high back elbow load, has a short and direct swing, fast hands and creates bat speed and barrel whip, comes off the barrel hard, showed his power well, projectable hitting tools as he continues to get stronger. 6.73 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, fields the ball cleanly off to the side, makes low and accurate one hop throws, stays on top of the ball well throwing. Also pitched, throws from a high 3/4's arm slot from a standard delivery. Fastball was in the low 80's and topped out at 84 mph, mostly straight with occasional cutting action. Change up was his best secondary pitch, maintained the arm speed well and created some fading life. Still developing feel and arm speed on a soft curveball. Good student.
