2025 PG Puerto Rico National Showcase Qualifier
Luis Yandriel Rivera Santos is a 2027 SS/C with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from Caguas, PR. Medium build with some present strength. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance with an inward toe tap into his stride, stays well timed and consistent, handles the barrel well and hit the ball to all fields, good hitting base to build from as he continues to get stronger. 7.32 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, plays under control and fields the ball cleanly with soft hands, arm strength best suited to second base. Also caught, sets up side saddle behind the plate, tends to stand early while gaining ground, longer arm action from an over the top arm slot. Took a turn on the mound, works from the stretch with a standard 3/4's arm slot, stays in line well and repeats his mechanics. Threw strikes with a mid 70's fastball and 11/5 curveball and competed well. Good student.
