2004 Underclass National Showcase
Edward Wakefield -- Wakefield is a sophomore left hander with a slim build. He threw 3 innings at the World Underclass, showing a fastball in the 74-76 mph range from a high ¾’s release point. He had good velocity on his curveball at 66-68 mph and threw a steady diet of strikes. He has a good arm and nice mechanics for a sophomore. He also showed good hitting ability with bat speed and a line drive swing plane. Edward is a very good student and he should develop a lot over the next couple years.
