Lucas Heathcote is a 2009 C/MIF with a 5'7'', 140 lb. frame from Pickering, Ontario, who attends St Mary's. Heathcote is a very young (2009) player with a lean and athletic frame. Defensively he has good quickness behind the plate. His quick feet help him blocking balls in the dirt, and helps produce quality pop times around 2.00. He has solid arm strength for his age and his throws were accurate. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a crouched stance. He stays balanced throughout his swing. Heathcote has solid swing mechanics, and he keeps his weight back well. He hits through the ball with extension in his swing. He is short and compact to the ball. Heathcote is a good student as well.
