2003 World Showcase
Barker is a solidly built catcher with some quickness behind the plate. He doesn't run well, but moves Ok behind the plate. His pop times are decent, but he doesn't show MLB arm strength. Barkers best tool by far is the bat. He features a nice smooth swing with a little lift and power potential. He hit a line shot to LF off a 89 mph fastball. He just jumped all over it! Though his other tools are a bit short for high level DI or pro ball, that bat has a chance to play in a big way. He has strength and uses it well at the plate.
