Clay Kollenbaum is a 2008 RHP with a 6'5'', 200 lb. frame from Dunedin, FL who attends Dunedin HS. He has a long and loose build with good strength in his lower half. Kollenbaum has a complicated fast paced delivery that shows the hitter a lot of moving parts and provides plenty of deception. His 88-91 mph fastball had plenty of life at the plate and added to his deception. Kollenbaum's best secondary pitch was a 78 mph change up that had very good hand speed at release and some of the same life his fastball did. His breaking ball varied between a slider and curveball break in the mid-70's and was better at the higher velocities. Kollenbaum has a loose arm and should keep improving, especially as he develops consistency with his breaking ball.
