2022 South Dominican Republic Showcase
Randy Vallejo is a 2023 RHP with a 6-3 frame from the Dominican Republic. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Clean and short arm action through the backside working to a high three-quarters release point, occasionally gets too quick down the mound and will rush, creates nice downhill plane when on time with solid extension out front. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, shows nice life through the zone, nice upside moving forward. Also mixed a slider up to 78 mph with short, tight bite and shows comfort landing the pitch within the zone. Nice upside with physical projection and feel for both pitches. Named to the South Dominican Republic Top Prospect List.
