McKay Skarlanic is a 2029 RHP/1B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Carlsbad, CA who attends Carlsbad. Features a taller athletic build with plenty of projection. Ran a 7.07 60-yd dash. At 1B, showed strong actions. Proper fundamentals with feet + glove fielding it clean while getting off accurate DP feeds and throws across the diamond with arm strength. At the plate, operates from an even base and uses a toe tap trigger for timing. Loose hands load well into a lower set. Then it's easy quickness and whip of the barrel through on a slight uphill path with noticeable strength and bat speed. Worked the middle of the field with hard LDs/FBs and showed feel for the barrel. On the mound, showed a clean and athletic operation down the mound with repeatability and ease. Belt high lift into some early push but creates decent length to the stride. Loose arm action that works to a 3/4 slot with easy adv. arm speed. Worked the FB up to 86 where it flashed a bit of natural running action and worked it east/west. Mixed in a sharp mid 70s SL that he displayed strong feel to execute and produced several whiffs throughout his outing. Named to Top Prospects List.
