TJ Coleman is a 2029 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Wilson, NC who attends Hunt. Medium high-waisted athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. Recorded a 7.62 second sixty-yard dash time. Works from an abbreviated wind up on the mound with a medium leg raise over the rubber and a lower 3/4's arm slot coming through. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 70s for most of his outing, peaking at 82 mph from a lower three-quarters arm slot. Around the zone mostly with tons of natural arm-side life to it from the left-side, slurve shaped breaking ball will continue to develop with additional velocity and mechanical refinements. Secondary first baseman with a developing defensive skill set. Showed clean footwork around the bag, delivered fairly accurate throws up to 78 mph across the diamond during drills. Took part in the outfield portion of the defensive workout as well where he showed sound footwork throughout the fielding process with deliberate pace. Maintains some momentum into release and delivered throws up to 80 mph. Left-handed hitter that hits from a wider, crouched stance with a tight hand set, high back elbow and small stride into launch. Middle-of-the field approach with a quick launch and the propensity to be on the barrel. Showed some feel for the barrel and developing strength at impact. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Excellent Student.
