KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Morning Session
Riley Baber is a 5'9, class of 2024 3B from Overland Park, KS who attends Blue Valley Southwest HS. Riley is a strong and gifted athlete who shows easy skill. Her commendable 3.39 20-yard dash and 1.23 5-yard split times are sound and show plus playable speed. A primary 3B, Riley shows easy footwork that allows her to position quickly and consistently. She has an impressively smooth glove that highlights her soft and sure hands. Her transition is routine and her powerful arm, that plays up, allows her advanced 58-mph throws to get on target in a hurry, Highly accurate thrower. At the plate, this talented RHH makes hitting appear almost too easy at times. She presents in a natural, balanced stance. She gets the barrel to contact well and produces some loud pop. The ball jumps from her barrel. She is especially impressive when her swing path stays in the middle of the field. Big upside for this gifted, highly projectable player.
