Maximillian (Max) Chung is a 2021 SS/OF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends St. Thomas. Lean, athletic looking frame with room to add strength. 6.70 runner with quick twitch actions in both the infield and outfield. Primary shortstop with smooth, fluid actions; Clean funnel out in front with quick transfer, soft hands and present arm strength across the diamond. Showed ability to throw from all necessary arm angles, recording accurate throws up to 89 MPH in drills. Secondary outfielder with clean footwork into and through the fielding process; athletic, fluid actions with well maintained momentum through release. Recorded throws up to 91 MPH from the outfield with low, online carry to bags. Right-handed hitter, hits from a spread stance, toe-tap trigger and rotational lower half mechanics. Middle-of-the field approach with consistent bat-to-ball skills and the ability to drive balls where they are pitched. Short, compact hand path with line drive swing plane and present bat speed. Very sound overall tools with chance to make an impact on both sides of the ball. Excellent Student. Named to the 2020 Perfect Game Sunshine South Top Prospect List.
