Patrick Collopy is a 2022 LHP/1B with a 6-4 215 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Bowie. Extra-large, athletic frame, physical with present strength proportioned throughout frame, long limbs. Ran a 7.49 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, repeats moving parts to delivery well, compact arm action through the back and hides it very well, works to a high three-quarters release point. Creates angle with release and lived down in the zone at the knees, fastball topped out at 85 mph and picked up uncomfortable swings with late running life. Maintains direction down the mound and hit spots, changeup was go-to secondary pitch in low-70s, straight in life and throws with conviction. Will continue to refine consistent release/feel of breaking ball. Long arm action at first base, fields the ball out front, shows comfort dropping slot and has carry on throws across the diamond with accuracy. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, weight starts on back side and utilizes a gliding leg lift trigger. Rotational swing with a long path through the zone, stays short to the ball at launch and shows strength when getting the barrel out front, best carry to the middle of the field. Good student.
