Diego Duque is a 2021 1B/LHP/OF with a 5-10 215 lb. frame from Pharr, TX who attends PSJA Southwest. Large physical build with room to still strengthen as he continues to develop. Primary first baseman, stays in front of the ball well and fields out in front. Good comprehension for his foot work off of the bag. Throws stay on line to all bags. On the mound, has a short arm action from a three-quarters slot. Large gather step into a high leg lift, fastball up to 76 mph, locates to his arm side well. Mixes in a 12-to-6 shaped breaking ball with good depth to the plate. Developing bite. From the outfield, fields off to the side and transfers cleanly. Arm action works well as all throws stay on line to all bags. At the plate, uses an upright and even stance with longer overall stroke. Handsy foundation, more left to be unlocked in his lower half. Middle to opposite field approach.
