Thomas Downs is a 2022 3B/RHP with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Falls Church, VA who attends George Mason. He ran a 7.07 second sixty. A primary third baseman with a larger build. On the infield he works low to and through the baseball with feel for the glove actions and some arm strength with a shorter arm action playing well going left with accuracy. On the mound he starts with a side step into a leg lift above the belt with a slightly coil at the top. The lower half works down the hill with good direction as the arm gets to a high three-quarters arm slot with the fastball sitting 74-76 mph and the curveball showed some bit in the upper 60's. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wider base using a toe tap trigger to fire the swing. The barrel works mostly on a level plane with developing bat speed but does show some strength in the hands at the point of contact. Excellent student.
