Ben Higdon is a 2021 OF/RHP with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Paducah, KY who attends McCracken County. Recorded a 7.21 second sixty-yard dash time. Long, lean frame with a high waist and room to add strength. Primary outfielder with energetic actions during the fielding process, quick arm action and projectable build. Showed ability to gain momentum into and through release, delivering accurate throws up to 90 mph in drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a quick paced delivery, loose arm action and continued projection. Commands both halves of the plate with full mix, sitting in the low-to-mid 80s and topping out at 86 mph. Showed two different breaking balls in this look; a slower curveball with 11-to-5 shape at 62 mph and a much sharper slider at 73 mph for strikes. Comes right at hitters and shows ability to hold velocity and generates plenty of swings and misses. Switch-hitter with legitimate ability to hit from both sides of the plate; uses a spread, open stance from each side with a tight hand starting position and negative stride trigger. Well balanced swing, whole field approach with direct path and present bat speed. High level upside with room to improve overall tools and add strength. Excellent Student.
