Mason Russell is a 2022 LHP/OF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from High Point, NC who attends Wesleyan Christian Academy. Mason is athletic and has noticeable quickness and developing strength. He ran a 7.36 60-yard dash. On the mound, Mason is feerless. He works quickly and throws three pitches for strikes. His 71-74 mph fastball shows a little cut and was worked to both sides of the plate. His 62-mph curveball, shows tighter spin and 12-to-6 break. He compliments both of those pitches with a 66-mph change-up that shows tumble at the dish. In the outfield, Mason understands positioning and shows quick feet and plays through the fielding action well. His glove plays and his transition is smooth. His throws are rotuinely accurate. At the plate, he uses a slightly open stance with a limited stride and a short, compact bat path. He sprays line drives to all fields. In the classroom, Mason is an exceptional student.
