Perry Burkett is a 2020 RHP/MIF with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Corpus Christi, TX who attends Incarnate Word Academy. Slender young athletic build, lots of room to get stronger. 3/4's arm slot with a compact arm action and an athletic delivery, showed much better stuff and command from the wind up than from the stretch. Mid-80's fastball, topped out at 86 mph, has both cutting and running life at different times and showed good ability to work to both sides of the plate. Slider was his best pitch, throws it effectively to both right and left handed hitters with late biting life and good depth at times. Gets more over the top on his curveball, still developing feel for this pitch. Competes hard and gets in a good rhythm when he can stay in the wind up. Right handed hitter, has a short and quick swing with good looseness through the ball, pull line drive contact. 7.12 runner, has athleticism in the middle infield and the chance to be a two-way prospect, has arm strength and carry, reads hops well and can make strong throws from different angles. Good student.
