Erick Pena is a 2021 OF with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Santo Domingo, DR. Extra-large, athletic frame with broad, angular shoulders and long limbs, present strength and still has plenty of room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 6.83 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, move well on feet towards the ball and utilizes a big crow hop prior to release to generate momentum through throws, gets on top of throws very well, quick arm action and up to 90 mph, shows carry and accuracy to the intended base. Lefthanded hitter, taller stance in the box with a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Long and loose swing through the zone, works the pull side well at present, leveraged path and shows jump of barrel. Keeping weight back will unlock even more strength, generates extension out front at point of contact. Easy tools and frame to project upon moving forward. Named to 14U National Showcase Top Prospect List. Selected for 14U PG Select Baseball Festival. Verbal commitment to Florida International.
