Marco Gutierrez is a 2021 SS/RHP/IF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Manvel, TX who attends Episcopal. Medium frame with broad shoulders and a large build. Ran a 7.46 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary shortstop. Charges well with clean footwork to and through the baseball. Fields the ball out front with soft and smooth glove actions. Quick transfers into throws producing carry across the diamond topping out at 86 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with a spread and crouched stance. High hand set to start utilizing a short stride load for timing. Simple mechanics with rotational actions to contact. Creates jump off the barrel working line drives to the middle of the field as well as to the pull side. Secondary righthanded pitcher working exclusively from the stretch. Smooth and repeatable delivery. Long and loose arm action in the back into a high three-quarters release. Stays online down the mound with drive off the back side into extension. Commands the fastball around the zone sitting in the low 80's and topping out at 84 miles per hour. Excellent student as well.
