Matthew Rose is a 2022 2B/SS with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Clearwater, FL who attends Clearwater Central Catholic. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Quick-twitch, ran a 6.80 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front with soft hands, quickness to transfer and shows athleticism to actions and works through the ball well with footwork, carry on throws will continue to develop. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow; subtle shift through lower half and can continue to incorporate additional lower half. Does a nice job of staying compact and direct to the ball with looseness and quickness to hands, keeps hands inside the ball. Balanced swing, works the middle of the field well, stays shorter through the ball at point of contact. Excellent student.
