Lucas Manning is a 2022 C/3B/MIF with a 6-0 177 lb. frame from Winston Salem, NC who attends West Forsyth. Medium athletic build with good present strength, especially in his lower half. Very good runner for a primary catcher, 6.90 in the sixty. Has good quickness behind the plate defensively with athletic movements and balance, has a quick and compact exchange and release on his throws with good arm strength, will sometimes dip his elbow in his arm stroke causing his throws to sail. Also plays the infield. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a good lower half coil and hip action, has quick hands starting the bat and generates bat speed, looking to get his hands extended, stays on the ball well through contact, good looking swing with some strength behind it. Well rounded athlete who will continue to improve. Excellent student. Named to the Spring Atlantic Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.
