Iain Isdale is a 2019 LHP/OF with a 6-4 170 lb. frame from Parker, CO who attends Chaparral. Large frame with long limbs and a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Primary left handed pitcher, worked exclusively from the strength. Stays tall on back side at balance and works to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Stiffer arm circle back at separation and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Flashed some arm speed with a fastball offering that had occasional downhill plane through the zone in the low 80's, topped at 83 miles per hour. Curveball had 1/7 shape with loose spin and solid depth in the mid 60's. Consistently filled the zone with both pitched, developing feel for each edge of the plate. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth paced deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling and created slight arm wrap at take back. Released from compact three-quarters slot producing on line carry to the bag at 82 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and reaching front side trigger. Loose, extended path to contact with a line drive plane through extension. Primarily worked to the middle of the field and flashed solid bat speed that created hard contact throughout batting practice. Good student. Named to the 2017 Rocky Mountain Showcase Top Prospect List.
