Grant Smeltzer is a 2021 RHP/OF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from York, PA who attends Central York. Recorded a 7.02 sixty-yard dash time. Mature frame with long levers and present athleticism. Primary right-handed pitcher with a physical, mature build and fairly simple operation. Uses a short, compact arm action that varies from high three-quarters to over-the-top at release, working downhill to create angle to his fastball. Quick worker who's fastball worked in the mid-eighty's, topping out at 87 mph in this look. Flashed tight, downer curveball with 12-to-6 shape at 72 mph that he commanded better later in his outing. Secondary outfielder with energetic actions into and through release. Shows ability to gain momentum in his throws to bags, recording throws up to 89 mph in drills. Right-handed hitter, who hits with an even stance, leg lift trigger and aggressive approach. Contact oriented stroke with present bat speed and hand driven swing path. Showed potential power development to the left centerfield gap when in sync and on time. High energy prospect continues to improve each time. Excellent Student.
