Carson Walsh is a 2022 SS/RHP, 2B with a 6-0 177 lb. frame from Sterling, MA who attends Worcester Academy. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.06 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front and picks the backhand well, shorter arm stroke through the back working to a tight release, ball comes out of hand well and shows carry, balanced ranging to either side with body control. Also pitched, leg lift up past belt and gets tall on backside with a slight gather and hip turn at top; quick arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 85 mph with short sinking life to it, projects with additional lower half incorporated into drive. Curveball shows tight spin and some bite to it when on top up to 73 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Gets to front side early at times but incorporates physical strength; creates extension out front and shows jump and carry coming off when squared. Upper body dominant swing, can get more out of lower half, shows present bat speed through the zone. Very good student. Named to the Northeast Prospect Top Prospect List.
