Sam Stewart is a 2020 C/RHP, 1B, 3B, OF with a 6-0 199 lb. frame from Gainesville, GA who attends Lakeview Academy. Large and physical frame with strength present to his build. Ran a 7.65 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, worked out behind the plate with a wide set position, has quickness to his actions using a compact arm action into take back, flashed legitimate tools with a strong arm behind the dish, accurate throws consistently, 1.89 second best pop time during drills. Secondary righthanded pitcher, online delivery with a similar arm action as behind the plate, hides the ball well and throws with low effort, fastball topped out at 83 mph, creates a downhill plane to the plate, mixes in a curveball with 11-5 shape and feel. Also worked out in the infield and outfield, athleticism present to his actions, has a very quick transfer in the infield where he also graded out the best, showed best arm strength from the outfield where he topped out at 84 mph. Righthanded hitter, sets up at the plate with a square stance and high hand set, takes a small stride into contact, fluid stroke with present bat speed, swing plane gets uphill at times, meets the baseball out in front, loud barrel with a gap to gap approach and strength at impact. Outstanding student.
