Dalton Porter is a 2020 LHP/1B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Leander, TX who attends Rouse HS. Medium athletic build, young look. Multi-part delivery with a very deep arm in back, may have to simplify delivery for consistency, high 3/4's arm slot. Mid-80's fastball, topped out at 86 mph, mostly straight, tires to work fastball to corners. Change up was his best pitch this outing, varies the velocity and location well and shows some feel for the pitch. Soft curveball has some depth and is effective to get hitters further off balance. Left handed hitter with some hitting tools to develop, good lower half use to help develop bat speed, open stance with a pull and lift approach, has bat speed, can get his elbow down earlier. Should continue to improve as he physically matures. Good student, verbal commitment to Texas.
