Jacob Cabeceiras is a 2021 SS/RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Metairie, LA who attends Archbishop Rummel. Medium and athletic frame with room to fill and some time to do so. Ran a 7.32 second 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, worked out in the infield with a higher gathering position and quick movements to the ball, showcased a quick exchange from glove to hand, shuffles into his release with a quick arm action into throws to produce a best throw of 79 mph across the diamond. Secondary righthanded pitcher, high intensity delivery with varying arm slots at release, takes his arm back to a compact arm action up to a primary arm slot of 3/4 while also dropping down to sidearm at times, fastball topped out at 79 mph with varying life to the pitch, mixd in a curveball with 11-5 shape. Righthanded hitter, sets up at the plate with a crouched stance and weight sitting primarily on his back side, uses a leg lift trigger into swing, wrapped start while getting his foot down on time, rotates well through contact and drives the baseball with intent, really nice round of batting practice showcasing power potential and overall strength. Good student. Named to 2019 Sunshine Southeast Showcase Top Prospect List.
