Nicholas Armstrong is a 2020 RHP/C with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Alpharetta, GA who attends Cambridge. Tall frame, strength to legs. Ran a 7.58 second 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins delivery with a side step up to a high leg lift, long arm action up to a high 3/4 arm slot, uptempo delivery, throws with max effort, timing through arm stroke is a bit inconsistent, some drop and drive actions with a good use of his lower half but could still get more. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, feel for a 12-to-6 curveball with late biting action, flashed a changeup with fading action in warmups but never threw the offering in game. Secondary catcher, displayed some flexibility behind the plate, developing receiving actions, longer arm stroke, present arm strength topping out at 79 mph from behind the dish with a 2.19 second best pop time. Righthanded hitter, upright stance, big leg lift trigger, long hand path to the baseball, showed the ability to impact the baseball with some strength, gets mistimed a bit but flashed pop when squared. Good student.
