Alex Flood is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Lawrenceville, GA who attends Brookwood. Large build, tall and lanky frame, room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.69 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, exclusively from the stretch, smooth paced leg lift to belt, stays tall on back side, drop and drive actions downhill getting over front side well, carries momentum online to the plate, short arm action to a 3/4 arm slot, hides baseball well at take back, tends to land closed creating some crossfire at release point. Three pitch mix, fastball jumped out of hand showing running action, curveball displayed 10-to-5 shape with depth, flashed a changeup that showed tumble to the bottom of the zone with maintained arm speed. Also took reps in the outfield, smooth actions, quick release and gets rid of ball quickly from tight 3/4 arm slot, carries momentum through the plate with good carry. Righthanded hitter, upright and even stance, high hands and high back elbow, weight on back leg with shift into contact, deep hand load with small leg kick trigger, level barrel plane, balance throughout swing, middle of the field to opposite field approach. Excellent student.
