Jonathan Rivard is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Spotsylvania, VA who attends Spotsylvania HS. Large and longer frame, high waist, lean build, room to fill out physically as he continues to put on additional muscle. Posted a 7.55 60-yard dash. From the outfield, showed quickness to the ball with his athletic actions and short footwork. Throws came from a full arm action through the back, signs of arm strength with more velocity to come as he continues to add strength. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with an open stance, high hand set, and high back elbow. Small leg lift trigger that strides the stance back to squared to slightly closed. Swings on a line drive swing plane and stays short to the baseball. Good bat speed through the zone. Showed ability to go the other way. On the mound, throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Online delivery with a shorter arm action at release point. Fastball is true out of hand with good command to the glove side. Curveball has 11/5 shape and flashed depth. Change up had good sink and run to arm side. Great Student.
