Nicholas Regalado is a 2020 RHP/C with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Miami Lakes, FL who attends Monsignor Edward Pace HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength proportioned well throughout body. Primary righthanded pitcher, balanced mechanics throughout, hip turn at top of leg lift while standing tall on backside, easy and short arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Generates extension out front and repeats while staying on line and incorporating lower half. Works both sides of the plate with fastball, showed nice arm speed and up to 89 mph with running life, pitched off fastball. Maintains arm speed well on changeup and went to curveball with confidence. Up to 71 mph with 11-5 shape, showed depth and projects with maintained arm speed. Righthanded hitter, wide and slightly open stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Simple swing and upper body dominant, physical strength plays and able to impact the baseball to all parts of the field. Short and strong swing, very quick through the zone with hard line drive contact off the barrel, easy leverage and carry to pull side and repeats well. Named to 14U National Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student. Selected to the 2017 14U PG Select Baseball Festival.
