Justin Byler is a 2018 1B/RHP, 3B, OF with a 6-4 190 lb. frame from Lititz, PA who attends Warwick. Large frame with long limbs and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional size and strength. Ran a 7.54 sixty-yard dash. Primary first baseman with quick, athletic footwork while centering the baseball and pivoting to second base. Moves well to each side with clean glove actions while funneling the baseball. Flashed ability to change arm action and create accurate throws to the bag, topped at 79 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with a slight crouched, open stance and high back elbow set. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Direct hand path to contact with a naturally lifted barrel plane through finish. Stays balanced throughout swing with present bat speed and strength at contact. Flashed the ability to turn the barrel aggressively and works to pull side with authority. Also pitched showing a quick tempo delivery. Creates slight turn at balance going and utilizes lower half while driving to the plate. Consistently pounded the strike zone with a fastball that flashed heavy downhill plane in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 82 miles per hour. Showed good feel for a tight spinning breaking ball that had solid depth to the bottom of the zone as well. Flashed the ability to throw curveball as a get me over pitch in negative counts, and utilize as a swing and miss offering late in counts. Good student as well.
